It may seem somewhat unusual to be reading a comment about the Dansco Supreme Coin Albums on an introduction page for the Capital Collectors Plastic, Co. line of coin holders but there is a very important point that I want to make. I have often referred to the Dansco Coin Albums as the "Cadillac" of coin albums because of the high quality of materials and superior craftsmanship of the product. So, if you trust Jake's comments about the superb quality of the Dansco line of coin albums I am sure you will agree that the Capital coin holders are the "Rolls-Royce" of coin holders!
Shown directly below are links and descriptions of the various categories of Capital Coin Holders available followed by some General Information about the fine quality and craftsmanship of the holders.
The stock numbers we have used for all Capital Plastic products are identical to those used in their catalog with the exception we have added the letters "CP" as a prefix and in some cases a quantity or denomination number after the Capital number to avoid having them conflict with other stock numbers used throughout our product numbering system.

HANDCRAFTED ACRYLIC HOLDERS WITH SCREWS
The hand-crafted holders with screws are made for the collector who desires a distinctive environment for his or her possessions. They are made from quality, cast, acrylic plastic which will not fade or discolor. This acrylic does not contain any sulfur, acid, polyvinyl chloride or oily substances. These coin holders consist of three panels; one colored center panel called the center insert which contains the tapered coin openings and the printing, and two clear panels for the front and back called windows that protect the coins and permit their examination from the obverse and reverse. The paper money holders are made of two panels of clear acrylic. The panels of the hand-crafted acrylic holders are held securely together by a network of clear plastic screws and posts.
Assembly of all hand-crafted holders is made easier by the match mark. When assembling the holder, find the craftsman's match mark on each panel. The match mark is always on the edge on the upper right hand side of each panel. Arrange the panels so the match mark forms a straight line. The edge should then look like this match mark illustration. The panels on hand crafted holders are not interchangeable and will fit together best only one way.
MACHINE MADE MOLDED HOLDERS WITH SCREWS AND SNAP TOGETHER CASES
The molded holders with screws as well as the snap together cases have the same basic properties as the hand-crafted acrylic holders. However, since these holders are at least partially machine made they are lower in price, easier to assemble and the parts are interchangeable. The obverse and the reverse of the coins are visible through both sides of the holder.
THE COIN OPENINGS
The coin openings are tapered and carefully sized to insure the accurate fit of most coins. Each coin holder is tested with coins or discs after the coin openings are made. When you are installing your coins be sure you are putting the right coin in the proper opening from the front side of the holder. Gently press the coin into the opening so the coin seats in the tapered side of the hole. All coins vary in size somewhat due to machine tolerances during the minting process. Generally, the older the coin the greater the differences in minting tolerances. Pre-1900 American coins, Foreign coins and Morgan Dollars tend to vary greatly in size.
STOCK NUMBERS, PRINTING, HOLDER SIZES
All Capital coin holders numbered in the BVD, 400's, GX & MA series are fully imprinted with Titles, Dates, Mint Marks and any other appropriate descriptions. The BVD stands for Bank Vault Drawer. The BVD holders are 8" x 14" and will fit in most safety deposit boxes. They are designed to hold complete sets or as many coins in a set as is aesthetically possible. Capital's 8" x 10" and smaller sized holders will also fit into safety deposit boxes. The 51 series is considered a stock book for coins. The holder is printed with a title and nothing else. You can make your own collection with these holders. The GA series are stand up coin displays that may have room to display a picture or document. The GB, MB, and C cases have chipboard inserts which are imprinted. The Capital snap together cases are: Galaxy, 6.5" x 6.5", Meteor, 4" x 7", Comet, 4.25" x 6.375", Vest Pocket, 3.3" x 3.3", CAPS, 2" x 3", Krown 2.5" x 2.5", Round Disc,1.830", KF series 2.5" x 2.5".
