The Cheap Way Out |
|
|
If you are building a set of Lincoln Head Cents and you need the 1955 Double Die, but it's just too expensive for you at this time, take the cheap way out. Fill that empty hole in your coin album with the 1955 "Poor Man's Double Die" cent. The way these "Poor Man's Double Die" cents were struck gives them the appearance of the last 5 in the date being doubled. No, the doubling appearance is not as well pronounced as the full double die cent is, but than again it's only a fraction of the price. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated |
