Blue & Brown Ike Dollar Special
Also, there were no Ike dollars dated 1973 issued for general circulation. The entire production of 1973 Clad dollars that year went into the production of the Government issued Mint sets. Compared to the Clad composition coinage that was minted for general circulation both the Blue and Brown Ike's have extremely low mintages.
You can see by the mintage figures that 1971 was the banner year and by 1972 the excitement of these new Blue and Brown Ike's waned and production dropped to the point that the U.S. Mint discontinued the Blue and Brown Eisenhower program at the end of 1974. The Blue and Brown Ike's are a great item to add to your collection for several reasons.
We are offering these Blue & Brown Eisenhower dollars as follows:

Series 1935 A $1.00 Hawaii Overprint Silver Certificate
Run your mouse over the note to see the reverse side. During the early days of WWII, the U.S. had fears that Japan would overrun Hawaii. If this occurred, large sums of currency could have been captured and used to fund their war effort. So, the U.S. decided to issue the same $1 Silver Certificates as used on the mainland, but with a brown seal and serial numbers and overprinted with the word "HAWAII" twice on the front and in large block letters on the reverse side of the note. Because these notes were distinctive, it would make it easy for the U.S. to demonetize the notes if large amounts fell into enemy hands. Later in the war, these notes were used in the U.S. held Pacific Islands for the same reasons. Although these historic notes were somewhat plentiful many years ago they have all disappeared from circulation and today are a real collector's item. The

Scarce Series 1963 $10.00 Federal Reserve Star Note
Run your mouse over the note to see the reverse side. A “star” note is a genuine legal tender bank note, but it is printed separately from regular bank notes. It is identified by a Star (*) in the prefix or suffix position of the serial number. These Star notes are typically used to replace a note that for some reason such as faulty printing, torn paper, or excess inking, was damaged in the printing process. Whenever an error is discovered, the offending bank note is removed and it is replaced with a Star note. Even though the printing of bank notes is a streamlined and technical process mistakes do happen but not that often when you consider the millions upon millions of notes printed daily. Consequently, Star notes are seldom encountered – especially in Choice Uncirculated condition and are a Prized item by currency collector’s. The note in this Special is considered a Scarce note.
